Arum: Khan-Crawford Is Possible
Following his dominant victory over Jeff Horn, it was announced that new WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford would be returning to the ring in October.
On a recent edition of the Everlast Talkbox podcast, Bob Arum claimed he is looking “get the best possible opponent at the time” to fight Crawford in the fall.
One name on the list is Amir Khan, who had a dominant return to the ring back in April against Phil Lo Greco.
While Khan is signed to a multi-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn, Arum claims that the Bolton born boxer is a “free agent” in the United States.
“Amir Khan could be a possibility, I have to talk to him. He’s a free agent if he fights in the US. And I’m sure there are others,” Arum said.
Arum may be stirring the pot after Hearn’s planned invasion of the United States, as part of a $1 billion dollar deal with The Perform Group, set to launch this summer.
