Askren Wants UFC Debut In London Against Till
While Ben Askren has been calling out nearly every major name on the UFC roster (that isn’t Tyron Woodley), the former Bellator and ONE welterweight champion has focused his eyes on one opponent, Darren Till.
While co-hosting the Rudis Wrestling Podcast, Askren would not only about his much talked about trade to the UFC, but wanting to face the Liverpool product.
“Obviously, my number one and two would be GSP [Georges St-Pierre] and Khabib [Nurmagomedov] but I know there’s no way in hell I’m getting either one of those two first round,” Askren said. “So I’m hoping to get matched up with this Englishman named Darren Till. He just fought for the world title, he’s ranked number two. I had a little Twitter fight with him. I think he’s significantly overrated. So I would like to fight him.”
With fights against Khabib and GSP not in the cards and Tyron Woodley being a non-starter for Askren, he’d rather go after Till and travel across the pond to do so.
“I’m willing to go to London to fight him, so we will see what happens with that,” Askren said.
