Bio

Douglas Lima is a veteran mixed martial artist who currently competes in Bellator MMA.

Lima made his professional MMA debut in July 2006, winning via KO in 1:08. After five wins, he suffered his first loss in February 2007, losing to future UFC welterweight fighter Matt Brown. After winning seven of his next eight, Lima was scheduled to compete at a WEC event, but was forced to withdraw.

After another five-fight win streak, Lima was signed to Bellator, debuting for the promotion in September 2011 at Bellator 49. After winning the season five welterweight tournament, he received a title shot against Ben Askren, but ultimately fell short. Lima won the season eight tournament to receive another shot, and this time around, he defeated Rick Hawn at Bellator 117 in April 2014 to win the then-vacant title.

After losing the title to Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 140 in July 2015, Lima would win the title back at Bellator 164 in November 2016.
