Bio

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is a Thai boxer who produced arguably one of boxing’s greatest upsets when he defeated Roman Gonzalez for the WBC Super Flyweight title in March 2017.

Coming from a poor family, Rungvisai moved to Bangkok to escape poverty at just 13 years old. Rungvisai made his professional debut on Mar. 17, 2009. After a rocky 1-3-1 start, Rungvisai went on a 26-fight win streak, including a WBC Super Flyweight title win over Yota Sato on May 3, 2013. He lost the title to Carlo Cuadras on May 31, 2014, but has since rebounded and gone on a 16-fight win streak.

On March 18, 2017, Rungvisai won the WBC Super Flyweight title back in upset fashion, scoring a huge win over Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez. The two are scheduled to meet for the title once again on Sept. 9.
