Bellator 188 Recap: Lahat Cruises to Decision
Days after receiving a huge opportunity after Bellator 188 lost its championship main event, Noad Lahat made the best of it. Lahat defeated Jeremiah Labiano in the main event of the card, held at the Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Lahat pretty much dominated most of the first round, constantly applying pressure onto a retreating Labiano. Lahat got in a few slams and some ground-and-pound as well. However, while Lahat still controlled the second round, he committed two fouls — a kick to the cup and elbows to the back of the head on the ground, the latter of which Lahat argued were legal elbows to the ear. Still, the referee chose to deduct a point from Lahat’s score.
Lahat was once again dominant in the third, as he won clinch control early on, took Labiano down and rode out most of the clock while still throwing in some ground-and-pound.
In the end, all three judges awarded the bout to Lahat, each giving a score of 29-27.
