Bellator Announces Mitrione-Bader For October 12

On Tuesday, Bellator announced the first semi-final fight of the Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix, as Ryan Bader and Matt Mitrione will square off on October 12th at the Mohegan Sun Arena.

Bader looks to become a two-division champion in the Bellator cage, and is coming off a 15 second finish of King Mo Lawal at Bellator 199, while Mitrione would take a unanimous decision victory over Roy Nelson at Bellator 194.

The winner of the semi-final clash will await the winner of the Chael Sonnen-Fedor Emelianenko semi-final, which has yet to be announced.

The finals of the tournament may land in December of 2018 or in January of 2019, with Bellator President Scott Coker claiming New York City or Los Angeles as potential destinations for the finals and crowning of a new Bellator heavyweight champion.
