Bellew Wants Ward Or Fury Next
Riding high off of his fifth round stoppage win against David Haye, Tony Bellew has his eyes set on recently retired Andre Ward.
Ward last fought in the summer of 2017, when he stopped Sergey Kovalev in their light heavyweight championship rematch.
According to a story published by Boxing Scene, Ward and Bellew were in negotiations for a fight at cruiserweight, but the two sides could not come to terms on money.
After dropping Haye three times during Saturday’s win in London, Bellew called out Ward.
“I will beat Andre Ward, I will knockout Andre Ward,” Bellew said.
“He’s a pound-for-pound king but I will beat him.”
While Ward is the main target for Bellew, the former WBC cruiserweight Champion also wants a fight with returning heavyweight Tyson Fury.
“It’s a fight [against Fury] I like,” Bellew said. “There’s loads of options, we will just have to see. Ward wants the fight.”
