Broner: If I Ducked Fights, I’d Never Lose

Adrien Broner has gone three straight fights without a win, losing two and having one go to a controversial draw. Broner feels that if he was more selective, he’d be undefeated.

“People don’t do what I do, man,” Broner said to reporters following Gervonta Davis’ first-round knockout of Hugo Ruiz. “You know, if, and I ain’t making no excuses or nothing, but if I turned down fights, I’d still be undefeated – point blank, period.”

Within the past two years, Broner has suffered decision losses to Mikey Garcia and Manny Pacquiao, as well as a split-decision draw against Jessie Vargas, with his sole win coming against Adrian Granados in 2017 via split decision.

“I’m from the streets, man,” Broner said. “I don’t care, and I’ll fight everybody again. Can’t wait.”

“June,” Broner said of when he’d like to fight next. “Sh*t, I ain’t take no punishment.”

“I’m comfortable at any weight,” Broner said. “Have my check right, we’re gonna have a hell of a fight.”
