Canelo Claims He Won First Fight
Even though many in the boxing community, including judges on fight night believe that Gennady Golovkin was the winner of their first encounter, Canelo Alvarez believes that he was the one who should have walked out in September as winner.
As reported by World Boxing News, Alvarez told reporters that he is doing all he can to leave no doubt of who the winner should be on May 5th.
“I’ve seen it like 10 times, I think I made it a big fight. I won the fight by two points,” Canelo told sdpnoticias.com
“I think that to making it more convincing I just have to throw more punches and nothing else. We are planning to concentrate before the fight in the mountains of Colorado to get in the best condition.”
“We are looking for a convincing victory, and that’s why we’re going this time and we’re going to prepare (much harder). I’ll give my best in training so that the fight will be easier.”
When asked SDP Noticias about the possibility of a third fight, Canelo added: “I think there is a high percentage that there may be a third fight. Let’s see how the second one develops.
“In the first one, there was a lot of talk about the rematch, it came out to be done, we hope it’s a great fight and that the public will enjoy it,” said the 27 year-old.
