Carlos Condit Returns at UFC 219
Carlos Condit earned his nickname “The Natural Born Killer” by being involved in some of the most action-packed fights in UFC history. But after a pair of heartbreaking defeats in 2016, Condit announced that he may be stepping away from the sport permanently.
Luckily for UFC fans, the Albuquerque welterweight has taken all the time away from the cage he needs, and he’ll make his return before the year’s end. He faces Neil Magny at UFC 219 on December 30 in Las Vegas.
Condit (33-10) last fought in August of 2017, losing to Demian Maia by first-round submission. It was Condit’s first submission loss in the UFC. In the fight before that, Condit lost a split decision to then-champion Robbie Lawler in one of the most exciting fights in recent years. Many believed Condit deserved to win the title that night, but the judges awarded Lawler the victory.
Magny (19-6) is coming off of a first-round submission loss to former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 215.
UFC 219’s main event has not yet been announced, but it will also feature a bantamweight clash between former champion Dominick Cruz and top-five contender Jimmie Rivera.
