Carvalho May Leave After Bellator 200
Whether or not he wins at Bellator 200, middleweight champion Rafael Carvalho may have his last night in the promotion on May 25th.
Carvalho in an interview with MMA Fighting hoped that he would have had a deal signed already, with little over a month away from his defense against Gegard Mousasi, but it seems the company hasn’t reached out yet.
âThey havenât reached out to me, and I think that gives me an advantage because Iâll be on top (after the fight),â Carvalho said. âIf they want me in the company, they have to value me more. Itâs even better for me.
âI have to think about myself first, and then the organization. Fighters have short careers, so I have to be selfish now.â
Carvalho has knocked out four of the six opponents of his fifteen fight win streak, including three title defenses since winning the title at Bellator 144 in 2015.
