Charlo: I’ll Whip GGG and Jacobs!

After one of the two bruising Charlo twins had another knockout victory on Saturday night, the other is poised to make his mark on a new division. Jermall Charlo is moving up to middleweight in his next bout, and he has his eye on the top names in the weight class.

Charlo, whose twin brother Jermell remains at 154 lbs. and just knocked out Charles Hatley, was also a titleholder at light-middleweight but will be moving up to 160 after his knockout win over Juilian Williams in December.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Charlo discussed the last blockbuster middleweight fight, a close showdown between Gennady Golovkin and Danny Jacobs. Charlo scored the fight for Jacobs despite Golovkin getting the unanimous decision nod. But in the end, he plans on beating both of them.

"It was a good fight," Charlo said. "A lot of people watched it. Personally I thought Danny Jacobs did an outstanding job. GG, he neutralized Danny, he made it a closer fight than it was but I had Danny winning, slightly, by a round but, you know, it is what it is. I’ma whoop both of they ass."

While the upcoming pay-per-view clash between Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is not a middleweight fight, it does have major implications for the division: after the catchweight, Canelo plans on sticking around at 160 and will likely face Golovkin in a highly-anticipated showdown.

But ask Charlo about that matchup, and he has even less to say:

"Man, fuck both of ’em. I’ll holla at ya’ll later."
