Coker Wants Rampage-Silva 4 In 2018
Earlier this year, Rampage Jackson claimed he wanted a fourth fight with Wanderlei Silva, and in March Bellator was reportedly interested in putting the fight together. Now, Bellator President Scott Coker made it known, that he wants the two rivals to battle inside the Bellator cage.
While talking to MMA Fighting on Thursday, Coker said that Bellator is looking into put the fight between the two together before the end of 2018.
“That’s something that we’re talking to ‘Rampage’ about and talking to Wanderlei about,” Coker said. “I would love to make that fight before the end of the year.”
Both Jackson and Silva want the final showdown between the two, but Silva wants the fight to go down in his native Brazil, which according to Coker is “very much on the table.”
“We are working on the possibility of executing that fight down there,” Coker said about a potential event, which would be the first time Bellator would hold an event in Brazil.
“I owe Wanderlei another ass whooping, I’ll tell you that,” Jackson said in February. “I know he’s not a heavyweight. The last time I fought him I knocked him out of the weight class. But he beat me twice. I only beat him once. I think I owe him another ass whooping.”
The current series is split 2-1 in favor of Silva, who won their first two fights while on the PRIDE roster, with Jackson getting a first round knockout win against Silva at UFC 92 in 2008.
