Crawford vs. Khan Live Results

The WBO welterweight championship will be on the line as Terence Crawford competes in arguably the biggest fight of his career yet, facing the challenge of Amir Khan, a former WBA and IBF super lightweight champion and former WBC Silver welterweight champion. The fight main events an April 20 Top Rank Boxing card at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

A few months ago, Khan announced he would forego a fight with longtime British rival Kell Brook and take $5 million in guaranteed money to face Crawford for the title in America.

Crawford, one of boxing’s best pound-for-pound athletes alongside WBA/WBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko and IBF welterweight champ Errol Spence Jr., has been virtually unstoppable since his March 2008 pro debut.

Crawford swept through the super lightweight division, winning the WBO title in early 2014 with a win over Ricky Burns before adding the WBC title in July 2016 with a win over Viktor Postol, and eventually become the undisputed champion by knocking out Julius Indongo in August 2017.

Crawford then jumped up to welterweight and knocked out Jeff Horn in June 2018 to win the WBO title. He retained it last October against Jose Benavidez Jr.

Khan claimed the WBA super lightweight title in July 2009 and knocked out Zab Judah in July 2011 in a WBA/IBF title unification bout before losing a split decision to Lamont Peterson that December. While he lost the IBF title, Khan gained the WBA title back after Peterson failed a post-fight drug test. He was then stopped by Danny Garcia in 2012 to finally lose the title in a WBA/WBC title unification bout.

Khan moved up to 147, winning the WBC Silver welterweight title in May 2014 and retaining against Devon Alexander and Chris Algeiri before jumping up to middleweight and challenging Canelo Alvarez in a May 2016 WBC Title fight, which he lost via sixth-round knockout.

After nearly two years, Khan returned in April 2018, stopping Phil Lo Greco in less than a minute before a lackluster decision win over Samuel Vargas in a fight that saw Khan knocked down early.
