Crawford’s Trainer Up For Brook, Not In England

Brian McIntyre, trainer to WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford is for a fight against Kell Brook, but had two words to the idea of crossing the pond for a title defense.

“F*** that,” McIntyre said on Sunday morning following Crawford’s controversial TKO win over Amir Khan at Madison Square Garden. “We’re the ‘A’ side. What the f*** we going over there for? No, Kell Brook can bring his ass over here. He was here tonight, right? All right, he can bring his ass over here.”

Brook, who was all but set to face Khan this year, was a spectator to Crawford’s win over Khan, which saw the British boxer get hit low in the sixth round, stopping the fight in a torrent of confusion among the fans, fighters, and everyone inside MSG.

While Crawford would be interested in fighting Errol Spence Jr. next, the option with the less political red tape would be Brook.

“You know, a lot of guys that we’re interested in fighting, like Kell Brook, has said that he wanted to fight Terence,” Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told a group of reporters early Sunday morning. “And that’d be fun.”
