The not-so cold war between Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White continues, as the Golden Boy CEO wants to jump into the MMA game.
De La Hoya, who blasted the idea of Conor McGregor’s fight with Floyd Mayweather, and Dana White’s plans to launch a boxing brand under the UFC umbrella, told TMZ that he’s going to start his own MMA promotion.
On top of that, he’s looking to sign one of Dana White’s close friends and cornerstones of the UFC, Chuck Liddell, to his Golden Boy MMA brand.
Liddell was seen leaving the Golden Boy offices in Los Angeles with De La Hoya, and claimed that, “I’m making a comeback for sure.”
When we pushed about signing with Oscar he told TMZ “We’ll see”.
“We’re talking some business,” Oscar added … “It’s no secret that I love what MMA fighters do. I want to get into the MMA business. I want to start Golden Boy MMA.”
With rumors circulating months ago that Liddell and Ortiz wanted a final encounter, Liddell didn’t deny that he’d want a crack at the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy.”
