Eubanks-Modafferi Set For UFC 230

While it may not be a flyweight title shot, Sijara Eubanks is back on the card for UFC 230 at Madison Square Garden on November 3rd.

Eubanks who up until Wednesday afternoon was set to face off against Valentina Shevchenko for the vacant flyweight women’s title, would go on a tirade after the title fight would be re-scheduled for UFC 231 in Toronto with the original opponent Joanna Jedrzejczyk in Eubanks’ place.

The New Jersey based fighter would go on a tirade blasting UFC President Dana White and UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard for the change, which came on the heels of Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis taking the main event slot for the event in a heavyweight title showdown.

“Put me under card. Put me co main. I don’t care. But put me in for the Flyweight title shot! @danawhite @Mickmaynard2 IVE EARNED MY SHOT. THIS IS MY TIME. Quit running this thing like a circus,” she added.

Eubanks is back on the card, not for the title, but will face off against the woman who replaced her in the inaugural women’s flyweight title fight, Roxane Modafferi.

Eubanks reached the finals of the 26th season of The Ultimate Fighter, with a showdown planned against Nicco Montano, but due to a weight cut issue, Eubanks would be pulled from the fight but have her first UFC fight earlier this year defeating Lauren Murphy in June.

Eubanks and Modafferi would face off on the same season of TUF, with Eubanks taking the decision in the competition series’ semi-final fight.
