Gustafsson Fires Back at Rockhold
On a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, former UFC Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold confirmed his intentions to move up to light heavyweight. And it appears he has his first foe in mind.
As reported by MMA Fighting, Gustafsson and Rockhold have exchanged words for a little while now. After Rockhold’s loss to Yoel Romero back at UFC 221, Gustafsson warned the former UFC champion that’d he be willing to “welcome” him to the division, while waiting for UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier – who is scheduled to challenge heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 in July.
During his interview on The MMA Hour, Rockhold responded that he would be coming after Gustafsson, and that was enough to earn a reply from the former light heavyweight title challenger on Twitter.
@LukeRockhold . Heard u coming for me.. Can’t ask for more .chinny as middle weight. KO’d as a LHW. Fool yourself to believe its the weight cut.
I’ll wait for u!!

Rockhold has talked about moving up from 185 to 205 in recent weeks, expressing the difficulty of making the weight as he ages.
