Holm Snaps Losing Skid at UFC Singapore
While there wasn’t too much action, one brutal head kick was all it took for Holly Holm to earn a victory in the third round of her headline bout with Bethe Correia at the UFC Fight Night event held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
After not much activity from either fighter in the first round, and action in the second only coming after the referee warned both ladies for stalling, Correia’s corner told her "don’t respect this chick." With that direction, Correia let her confidence on display, laughing after landing two punches and then taunting Holm to engage.
Her wish was granted, but at a price. Correia was floored with a hard head kick — one similar to the kick she made Ronda Rousey eat en route to winning the women’s bantamweight title in upset fashion. Following that kick and one ground punch, Holm received the knockout win.
