Horn Thinks Crawford Faked Injury

Jeff Horn believes that Terence Crawford may be ducking him.

The current WBO welterweight champion is weeks away from his rescheduled showdown with the unbeaten Crawford, and Horn believes Crawford’s bruised right hand was a “fake injury.”

The fight was scheduled for April 14th, is now on June 9th, and per Horn’s promoter Dean Lonergan, he

Lonergan was immensely frustrated with Crawford’s promoters at Top Rank, for not consulting with him about the move. He then asked Crawford’s camp for any evidence which would prove the injury actually happened, but Lonergan claimed it never surfaced.

Per Boxing Scene, Horn believes a theory that Crawford wasn’t injured, but wanted more time to prepare for the middleweight title holder.

“Hopefully he doesn’t watch me anytime soon and get too scared. It might get postponed again,” Horn said.

“I don’t know why they postponed last time but whatever happens, happens. I’ve had friends tracking him on Instagram and Facebook and whatever. He seemed to be bowling and using that hand quite fine (for a guy) with a hand injury.”

Horn claims that he’s in the best shape of his career, and that he will be handing Crawford the first loss of his career.

“I’m feeling as fit as I’ve ever felt because it’s basically a double prep for me. I’m in the best shape at the moment and I think I’m going to be very, very strong at welterweight.”
