Hurd-Lara Set For April 7th In Vegas
Jarrett Hurd will be returning to the ring as he defends his IBF junior middleweight title on April 7th in Las Vegas.
Hurd will be facing off in a unification battle against WBA and IBO junior middleweight champion, Erislandy Lara when they face off at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
This will be the first time both men will have stepped into the ring since both were on an October 10th card at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Lara would dominate Terrell Gausha for a unanimous decision, while Hurd would pull of the biggest win of his career when he stopped Austin Trout in the 10th round.
Per a press release announcing the fight, Hurd claims he is looking to finish the fight before the scorecards and knockout Lara.
“I plan on being the aggressor for the entire fight, so I’ve been doing some exercises and working on techniques to improve my foot work so that I can stay on top of Erislandy Lara,” said Hurd.
“We are not trying to go to the scorecards, so hopefully, I can be the first man to stop him, which I hope to do in the later rounds.
“I called him out, and now, it has come to pass that I get to become a unified champion against the man everyone considers to be the best and most feared in the division, and that’s Erislandy Lara.”
