Igl-Saduakas Gain Gold In Youth Olympic Final

In the concluding day of the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the final two gold medals in Judo would fall to Germany and Kazazkhstan’s young judoka.

In the finals of the women U78kg category German competitor Raffaela Igl would be able to out-grind Kazakh judoga Margarita Gritsenko to gian gold. While Igl would earn a penalty in the opening minute due to passivity, the German champion would be able to gain the lead with a waza-ari and earn an ippon for the first gold for her home nation in the tournament.

In the final gold medal showdown of the day, the men’s U100kg division would see Bekrys Saduakas get past Ilia Sulamanidze, where both men would take two penalties each during extra time, leading to a fierce golden score battle with Saduakas gaining gold via a waza-ari.
