Ilyasov Wins First Grand Prix Title

Last week, Niyaz Ilyasov would be able to clinch his first Grand Prix title, by getting past three time silver medalist, Kyle Reyes, in the U100kg final.

Reyes, ranked 95th in the world, fought back from injuries to make the finals against the Russian competitor, but would fall to the 14th ranked Ilyasov.

Even though Reyes would take the loss, both he and Ilyasov may be standouts at the upcoming World Judo Championships in Azerbaijan.
