Jimmy Smith To Debut At UFC 221

Following his departure from Bellator, longtime MMA color commentator Jimmy Smith a will make his UFC debut  at UFC 221 on February 11th.

Smith was signed by the UFC towards the start of 2018,after parting ways with Bellator in December. Smith’s tenure with Bellator lasted nearly a decade, almost the entire duration of Bellator’s existence. Smith appeared on UFC television for the first time as part of the FS1 analyst desk at UFC 220 last weekend in Boston.

Smith, 40, is a former fighter and regarded as one of the better color men in the sport. He’ll likely be paired with UFC play-by-play man Jon Anik for UFC 221. Anik, a fellow Bellator alum, was the play-by-play voice for Bellator’s first season in 2009 with color man Jason Chambers. Sean Wheelock and Smith took over the following year.
