Joseph Parker Set For August In Atlantic City
Following rumors last week about a potential fight between the two,, Joseph Parker’s return to the ring against Bryan Jennings was made official on Tuesday.
Update: DUCO Promotions, who promote Parker claim that there is no real set yet with Jennings.
“Contrary to media reports, a fight between Joseph Parker and Bryant Jennings has not been confirmed.
“Whilst we are in negotiations with the Jennings camp, we have other options on the table, including Alexander Ustinov.
“No deal will be made on the next fight until Joseph and his team are satisfied with the final terms and a contract has been fully negotiated and signed.
“We won’t be making any further comment for now.”
Jennings confirmed the fight to THE RING’s Mark Coppinger, as a heavyweight showdown on August 18th taking place in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Philadelphia native’s biggest fight was a world title fight against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, in a decision loss.
“This is a chance that most don’t get again,” Jennings told THE RING in a text message. “The pace and the back uphill battle is deemed to be a successful one unlike the last.”
Parker is looking to rebound from a loss to Anthony Joshua in March, that would cost him his WBO world heavyweight title.
With a win Parker may be able to bounce back into contention against Joshua or WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
