Kakuryu Pulls Off Win At Spring Grand Tournament

Yokozuna Kakuryu was almost blown out of the water on the ninth day of the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament, as he and maegashira Kaisei stay unbeaten heading into the final stretch of the tournament.

It took only one uncontrolled attempt by his opponent, number four ranked maegashira Shodai, for Katuryu to find his way to victory and remain unbeaten and the only grand champion in the 15 day competition in Osaka.

 

sixth ranked, Kaisei the other unbeaten sumo in the tournament, yielded easy victory against ninth ranked Ryuden.

Ryuden attempted an underarm hold on Kaisei’s belt, but the sixth ranked maegashira found a way to force his opponent out and cruise on in the tournament.
