Kakyryu Top Of JSA Ranking Heading Into May Tournament

Following his victory at the Spring Grand Tournament, yokozuna Kakuryu is atop of the Japan Sumo Association rankings, following their release on Monday.

After spending much of last year battling injuries, the Mongolian yokozuna is looking to keep the momentum going for this tournament, starting on May 13th at the Ryogoku Kokuigkan.

Fellow yokozunas Hakuho and Kisenosato are expected to return to action as well, with Hakuko recovered from a toe injury ,while Kisenosato was battling an injury to his arm nad left pectoral muscle in last year’s Spring Grand Tournament.
