Khabib Looking To Return In Nov-Dec

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC’s new lightweight champion took to Instagram on Sunday to discuss what’s next for him and his newly won world title.

Khabib, who will not fight during the holy month of Ramadan, plans to return to the Octagon in November or December. Nurmagomedov won the title over Al Iaquinta at UFC 223, following the most hectic week in the 25 years of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Lightweight division is the most competitive division in #UFC At this moment, atmosphere is very heated: there is Conor and Tony, Porier, Lee and Alvarez, all of them are good. Fight with any of these guys would be very interesting and competitive. I never choose opponent, fought with any fighter who was offered me to fight, and I’m not going to change that. I’m coming back November – December to defend my belt. Whoever @ufc decide to fight me with, I’ll sign. #bigdramashow #ufclightweight #mma #ufc #победатолькоотВсевышнего #inshaaAllah

“I’m coming back November – December to defend my belt,” Nurmagomedov wrote. “Whoever @ufc decide to fight me with, I’ll sign.”

With Dana White claiming that he’d never book a Tony Ferguson-Khabib  fight for the fifth time, after four aborted attempts, and with Conor McGregor awaiting a court date for throwing a dolly into a UFC bus which was carrying Nurmagomedov, there are still options.

With Eddie Alvarez, Dustin Poirier and Kevin Lee, all coming off big wins the past few weeks,  its hard to argue with Nurmagomedov’s claim that the “Lightweight division is the most competitive division in UFC.”
