Las Vegas PD Release Statement On UFC 229 Brawl
Following a night where three men were put in handcuffs in the midst of a full scale brawl at UFC 229, the Las Vegas Police Department confirmed that no one involved pressed charges, and no one was arrested following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s win over Conor McGregor on October 6th.
“LVMPD officers assisted with breaking up several small fights that took place after Saturday night’s UFC main event in Las Vegas,” the statement read. “After all parties were separated, no one involved wished to press charges and no arrests occurred.”
While UFC President Dana White confirmed that three men from Nurmagomedov’s corner were placed in handcuffs, Conor McGregor would refuse to press charges, allowing all three men to walk free.
Even though a legal fight will not happen, Nurmagomedov and his team will have to face the scrutiny of the Nevada Athletic Commission, who investigating the incident and have withheld Nurmagomedov’s $2 million purse pending the investigation.
“We’ll leave no stones unturned,” claimed NAC Executive Director Bob Bennett following the chaos of Saturday night.
