Lesnar Back In USADA Testing Pool

Following Saturday’s stunning first round knockout of Stipe Miocic, new UFC heavyweight/light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier called out current WWE Universal champion Brock Lesnar. Lesnar, who was in Vegas for the event to call out whoever walked out of the fight the champion, would confront and push Cormier.

The one question walking out of UFC 226 was, is Brock Lesnar back in the USADA testing pool?

Lesnar, who last competed at UFC 200, defeating Mark Hunt, was suspended for a year and fined by USADA for failing an in-competition drug test, announced after Lesnar’s win/no-contest.

Now, with Lesnar back in the UFC, Lesnar has been confirmed by MMA Fighting to have been in the testing pool for the UFC’s drug testing partner, the question is for how long?  Lesnar’s “retiring” mid-suspension, froze the remaining time on his sentence, and if it was as of Saturday, he would not be able to compete until January 2019.

A USADA spokesperson would not go into detail, neither would Lesnar, regarding how far along the current WWE star was in the process, but many seem to think that he and Cormier will face off at the UFCs return to Madison Square Garden in December, which would have been a May re-entry into the USADA pool.

White said Saturday that Lesnar’s deal with WWE allows him to fight in the UFC.
