Lomachenko Lists His Top 3 Pound-for-Pound
Ukrainian sensation Vasyl Lomachenko may have less than a dozen professional bouts, but he is already skyrocketing up the pound-for-pound rankings on his way to being recognized as the sport’s best boxer. The 130-lb. champ does not put himself in the top-3 pound-for-pound list just yet, however.
In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Lomachenko was asked who he believes are the best fighters in boxing. He chose three names: Gennady Golovkin, Sergey Kovalev and Terence Crawford.
Lomachenko picking Kovalev, who lost a controversial decision to Andre Ward in November, is no surprise: the two are countrymen and have trained together. Asked whether he factors Kovalev’s loss into his pound-for-pound ranking, Lomachenko expressed that he disagreed with Ward winning the decision.
"Yeah, I remember," he said ."But you know who was the champion in this fight – Kovalev was the champion. If you want to be a champion you need to dominate it all fight."
