Makdessi vs. Ferreira Set For UFC 231

The UFC 231 card from Toronto just got a lightweight fight featuring a Canadian on the card.

UFC announced that John Makdessi and Diego Ferreira will compete at UFC 231 on December 8 in what will be Makdessi’s fourth straight fight at the Scotiabank Arena in Canada.

Makdessi has been competing for UFC since 2010, sporting a 9-6 record with the company. After being knocked out by Lando Vannata in 2016, Makdessi has unanimous decision wins over Ross Pearson and Abel Trujillo.

Having fought in the UFC since 2014, Ferreira, sporting a 13-2 overall record, has won his last two fights after suffering his first two pro losses. Ferreira has only fought once since getting hit with a 17-month suspension by USADA for admitted use of a banned substance and a positive drug test for another banned substance, knocking out Jared Gordon this past February.
