When UFC President Dana White released footage of some of the sparring session between UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and former welterweight boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi, Malignaggi was confronted via Twitter by much of McGregor’s fanbase.
Malignaggi left McGregor’s camp following a number of complaints, including the leaking of photos from the camp. One in particular showed Malignaggi down on the canvas, with Malignaggi arguing the photo depicted a moment after Malignaggi was shoved down to the canvas by the UFC champion.
“[As] disappointing as it is to the groupies who choose to be fooled, it’s easier to drop full unedited footage,” Malignaggi said while responding to some of the tweets at him. “I think people will see what they want to see here, he [expletive] himself with this footage because Floyd’s team will alert [the] ref he fouls this way now.”

During his Twitter ranting, Malignaggi responded to one fan’s tweet by joking that he’ll even fight McGregor this upcoming St. Patrick’s Day.
“Well, St. Patrick’s Day does fall on a Saturday in 2018,” he said.
