McGregor Launches Whiskey Label
Following his loss to Floyd Mayweather, Conor McGregor made it known that he was set to produce his own Irish Whiskey, and now less than a month before he returns to the Octagon, he’s made it into a reality.
Produced by a company he started named, Eire Born Spirits, Proper no Twelve is named for the UFC star’s hometown. “I come from a place called Crumlin, in Dublin 12,” McGregor explained. “It’s a place dear to my heart. It’s where I learned how to fight; it made me who I am today. It’s a place I’m still very much a part of every single day of my life.”
McGregor worked with the oldest distillery in the world and worked with master distiller David Elder to craft the best blend possible.
“We created close to 100 blends and ultimately selected what we knew was the one and only proper whiskey blend,” McGregor said. Using ingredients from an area known for its rich soil and pure spring water, the result is a complex and sophisticated spirit that delivers a smooth taste with hints of vanilla, honey and toasted wood.
The brand will also donate $5 from every case sold in Ireland and the United States to first responder organizations and charities, with up to $1 million to be donated annually.
