Mitrione Opens As Bellator Heavyweight Grand-Prix Favorite

Oddsmakers are putting heavy faith into Matt Mitrione as the man to walk out as Bellator heavyweight champion, according to odds released Tuesday by Bovada.

Mitrione  opened asa 9/4 favorite to run the table in the tournament to decide Bellator’s next heavyweight champion. The Longtime contender is followed closely by Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader (14/5) and former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir (4/1).

The biggest underdogs of the field are two of the more popular fighters, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (16/1) and Chael Sonnen (14/1), two former light heavyweights who will open the tournament in a quarterfinal matchup on January 20th at Bellator 192.
