More Judokas Are Changing Countries For Tokyo 2020

With the Tokyo Summer Games a little over two years away, some of the world’s top judoka are preparing to compete in Tokyo.

While some are training, attending events, and competing across the world, others per a report from Judo Inside are switching home nations.

Over the last several days Mongolian judokas Tumurkhuleg Davaadorj, Dagvasuren Nyamsuren and Temuulen Battulga, have switched nations, as well as the Greece to Turkey move by Roman Moustopoulos, taking a victory in Tunis under his new name of Vedat Albayyrak.

The newly christened Albayyrak, is following a trend that other judoka who have switched nations have done, change their name. This was done by former French Judoka Ketty Mathe who know goes under Kayra Özdemir following her debut last weekend as a member of the Turkish national team.
