Muhammad Set To Face Zaleski At UFC Fight Night 137

Although there aren’t many matches announced for UFC’s upcoming return to Brazil later this year, but a report indicates that a battle between two welterweights on long win streaks will take place on the card.

According to MMA Fighting, Belal Muhammad has agreed to fight Elizeu Zaleski at UFC Fight Night 137 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, scheduled to take place on September 22.

Muhammad has the chance to extend his win streak to five after he most recently scored a unanimous decision over Chance Rencountre this past June. After starting out 1-2 in the UFC, Muhammad has won his last four fights, all decision wins, scoring wins over Rencountre, Randy Brown, Jordan Mein and Tim Means.

Since losing his UFC debut to Nicolas Dalby in 2015, Zaleski has won his last six fights, with three of those wins winning “Fight of the Night” honors. Zaleski’s last two wins took place in Brazil, where he got a unanimous decision win over Max Griffin in 2017 and then knocked out Sean Strickland on the UFC 224 prelim card this past May. The fight against Muhammad would be Zaleski’s fourth in Brazil as a UFC fighter.

Even with the Muhammad vs. Zaleski fight set to take place on the show, the event does not yet have a main event bout officially announced by UFC.
