Oliveira-Magny Targeted for UFC Sao Paulo

A welterweight bout between Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira and Neil Magny has reportedly been booked for UFC Sao Paulo on Sept. 22, per MMA Fighting.

Oliveira is 5-1-1 since a February 2016 loss to Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Oliveira’s last bout was arguably the biggest win of his MMA career, as he scored a second-round submission win over Carlos Condit in a fight “Cowboy” took on two weeks’ notice. This earned him a Performance of the Night bonus, marking his third post-fight bonus in a row. A loss to Yancy Medeiros at UFC 218 earned Fight of the Night honors, while a July 2017 knockout of Ryan LaFlare awarded him another performance bonus.

Neil Magny, meanwhile, will come into this bout with back-to-back victories over Craig White and Condit. Magny is 3-2 in his last five bouts and holds victories over the likes of Johny Hendricks, Hector Lombard and Kelvin Gastelum.

The UFC has not yet announced the bout.
