Pacquiao Hopes Broner Clears Up Personal Issues
As his opponent deals with three different legal issues heading into their January 19th fight, Manny Pacquiao is concerned for Adrien Broner..
“I don’t want to put myself higher than [Broner] or [more] righteous than him,” Pacquiao told reporters during his media day on Wednesday. “Of course, I’m praying that he will resolve his problems and he will get through his problems. I just want to share a good life outside the ring [with Broner].”
Broner currently faces sexual misconduct charges in both Ohio and Georgia, for separate 2018 incidents, as well as issues in Florida over traffic tickets.
As reported earlier this week, Broner had hearings scheduled on Monday in Atlanta and Cleveland, where both incidents were alleged to have happened, sending lawyers to both as he was not required to be in attendance.
Asked if Broner’s issues would offer a distraction for the Cincinnati born fighter heading into their WBA “regular” welterweight title fight, Pacquiao was quoted saying “I don’t think so.”
