Pacquiao On UFC 229 Riot: Khabib Was Wrong
While Manny Pacquiao has no plans to face Conor McGregor in a boxing match, he did have his thoughts on what occurred following McGregor’s UFC 229 loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Following a fourth round submission win by the UFC lightweight champion, Nurmagomedov would hop the Octagon and attack McGregor’s teammate Dillon Danis, which would incite a brawl on the floor of the T-Mobile Arena.
With both men currently under investigation by the Nevada Athletic Commission, current WBA “regular” welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao was for his thoughts on the incident.
“I think it shouldn’t have happened since the fight was over and they’re just waiting for the decision. Khabib is wrong for attacking McGregor’s camp. I think a suspension or fine is in order,” said Pacquiao to the Manila Times.
Pacquiao is currently looking at Floyd Mayweather as his next opponent, with a potential 2019 showdown eyed for both fighters, but also eyes But Pacquiao eyes Adrien Broner, Amir Khan or Keith Thurman as a potential opponent before Mayweather.
