Parker: Joshua Has a Glass Chin

WBO Heavyweight Champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) is gearing up for the anticipated title unification bout with WBA/IBF/IBO Champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs). Parker has reportedly already hopped onto a flight to the U.K. for a possible upcoming press conference to announce the finalizing of the bout.

Parker and his promoter, David Higgins, have reportedly gotten under Joshua’s skin after holding a press conference to talk about Joshua’s “glass chin.” Parker and his team feel that Joshua does not have as much of an ability to take a punch, and Parker believes he can knock Joshua out when the two face off.

“All we have said is that Joshua has a glass chin,” Parker toldThe Daily Telegraph. “We know it, he knows it, everybody knows it, they just don’t talk about it. We saw him get dropped by Wladimir Klitschko but he still had the heart to get up and finish the fight – I’ll give him that – but if I catch him and hurt him I’m not going to give him the chance to recover.

I won’t be letting him off the hook. If I get him in the trouble Klitschko had him in, there is no chance for him. I’ll go in fast, I’ll go in hard, and I’ll go in for the kill. He won’t be able to recover against me.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum has previously stated that he feels Parker and WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder both possess the ability to knockout Joshua because he feels Joshua can’t take a punch as well.

Despite both men being undefeated, Parker adds that he isn’t impressed with the zero-loss record held by Joshua. He feels that Joshua is given everything he’s wanted on a silver platter.

The truth is that all the fights he has had from the beginning [of his career] have been in his favor, and he’s had everything his way. I think if my team had not come up with a plan we wouldn’t be talking about this fight coming up.

Joshua and Parker are likely to collide on March 31 at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
