Parker Looking At Bellew-Haye Winner
Joseph Parker may have lost his title on March 31st, but the New Zealand heavyweight is looking to bounce back, and may have an opponent in mind.
Following losing his WBO heavyweight crown to Anthony Joshua in a title unification clash at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, Parker is open to facing the winner of the Tony Bellew and David Haye rematch on May 5th at the O2 Arena.
David Higgins, who acts as Parker’s promoter, believes there is a “50-50” shot of Parker’s next fight taking place in the U.K. According to the outspoken promoter, it depends on who wants to “step up.”
“The question is whether they would be willing to step up? I think most people would see Anthony Joshua at this point as the ‘Golden Goose’, and the big queue of people sitting on their hands and waiting a year, maybe two years for a shot, which may or may not happen.
Higgins has focused his venom on Bellew and WBC silver heavyweight champion, Dillian White, who had pointed words towards Parker. Higgins wonders if its just all talk.
“Any fight against Parker now will be a guaranteed sell out of The O2 against any of those guys. Credit to the one that steps up.”
