Patricio Pitbull “Done” With Michael Chandler
The feud between the Pitbull brothers and Michael Chandler may never truly go away, but it is not in the front of Patricio Freire’s mind heading into Bellator 209.
Freire, who looks to retain his Bellator featherweight title in Tel-Aviv against Emmanuel Sanchez, told FIGHT SPORTS this week that he’s not concerned with Chandler, even though his name has been on the lips of both he and his brother Patricky since Chandler won the vacant Bellator lightweight title against Patricky at Bellator 157.
Earlier this Summer, Chandler re-signed with Bellator even after considering a move to the UFC. Patricio claimed numerous times that the only reason Chandler stayed on-board with the Viacom owned brand was to avoid the UFC’s drug-testing partner USADA.
Asked about his comments earlier this year, Freire looked to put Chandler in the past claiming that, “I’m done talking about that guy.” Chandler may come back in to the Pitbull brothers lives, as he faces Brent Primus at Bellator 212 this December with the lightweight title on the line. He may face Patricky at some point in 2019.
