Patricky Pitbull: “Chandler Is Afraid”
Patricky Pitbull is looking for not only his fourth straight win, but another chance at championship gold.
With his 20th fight inside the Bellator cage a mere few days away, one half of the “Pitbull” brothers told FIGHT SPORTS that even with Roger Huerta in front of him, his eyes are looking towards bigger opportunities.
“I wanna fight the champion and next Chandler,” Patricky told FIGHT SPORTS exclusively last week. “(Chandler) is bulls***, he talks s**t all the time. He don’t want to fight me, just make show for everybody looking on Twitter and Instagram.”
“He’s like a singer, he just wants people to look at him… I would like to have another chance at him and take his head off.”
If Chandler and Pitbull never get their chance to face off again, there is only one other option for the 32-year-old lightweight, Brent Primus, who won the title at Bellator NYC against Chandler.
“He’s the champion, I want my chance for the belt,” Pitbull said of the undefeated Primus.
“I want to take the belt and defend against Chandler, become a champion like my brother and make history as two brothers champions at the same time”
With Bellator adding major free agents such as Lyoto Machida following their deal with DAZN, when asked if there were any fighters not currently signed to Bellator he’d want to square off with, Freire had one fighter he wanted to face for “revenge”… Eddie Alvarez.
Alvarez and Freire went to war at Bellator 76 in 2012, and while the Brazilian leveled Alvarez, the future UFC champion would find a way to drop Freire towards the end of the first round.
With Scott Coker interested in bringing Alvarez back, Freire may get his chance at revenge, but first he must get through Huerta who is looking to bounce back from a loss to Benson Henderson at Bellator 196.
Bellator 205 airs live on Friday night September 21st from the Centurylink Arena in Boise, Idaho.
