Porter Feels Spence Fight Will Happen
While Shawn Porter has Danny Garcia in his sights on September 8th, Porter is looking forward towards a showdown with Errol Spence Jr.
Porter looks to win the vacant WBC welterweight title at Barclays Center, looks to clear out the division with a win on September 8th.
“It is hard to put Keith (Thurman) in there. He has been inactive. There is no need to even say that. We all know that. I go right above Keith. Errol Spence has been the champion longer. Errol Spence, Shawn Porter, then we get it going,” Porter told BoxingScene.com.
When asked about how a fight between he and Spence would play out, Porter feels it would be a fight on the level of his showdown with WBA champion Keith Thurman.
“We don’t back down. I think it is the same with me and him. You see our competitive drive and our heart round after round. Everybody was expecting big things out of me and Keith Thurman and we answered that bell and I think the same will go for myself and Errol Spence. Obviously we will have a game plan for him and figure out what he can do and can’t do. We already know a great deal about him. I think it will be a tremendous fight just like this one between me and Danny Garcia,” Porter explained.
