Pulev-Miller Purse Bid Awarded

A purse bid for an IBF title eliminator bout between Kubrat Pulev and Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller was held at the sanctioning body’s offices in Springfield, New Jersey.

As reported by ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Epic Sports & Entertainment won the purse bid, placing $2,111,111 to beat the only other bidder, Team Sauerland — Pulev’s promoter — which bid $1,000,010. Epic Sports promotes neither fighter, but Sauerland is on the outs with Pulev’s contract set to expire soon.

Epic Sports previously won a bid for a showdown between Pulev and Dillian Whyte, but Whyte chose to take a fight with Joseph Parker instead.

It is unknown if Miller will go on with the bout, as Epic Sports has hopes of staging the fight in Bulgaria. Miller would be entitled to 25 percent of the bid, earning a career-high $527,777.75.
