Ramirez KOs Reed, Earns Title Shot

The WBC Junior Welterweight Championship, vacated by Terence Crawford, now has two potential new champions after tonight.

Jose Ramirez earned a shot at the title tonight with a win over Mike Reed. Ramirez will now face Amir Imam for the title.

Ramirez was active right away from the opening bell, putting up flurries to punish the body of Reed. Meanwhile, Reed did a decent job at speedy counter-punching.

But in the second, Ramirez dropped Reed, and though Reed got up, Ramirez pummeled at him against the ropes until the referee halted the bout.

The IBF Light Heavyweight Title was on the line in the co-main event, when Artur Beterbiev won the title.
