Roy Nelson Pulled From Bellator 200

Days after Mirko Cro Cop would be taken off Bellator 200’s main event, his opponent Roy Nelson has also been pulled on Wednesday.

Nelson, who was set to face Cro Cop for an alternate spot in the Bellator World Heavyweight Grand Prix, has been made the official alternate by Bellator President Scott Coker.

“Roy is the guy now, so if he gets a spot by default, that’s what it is,” Coker said. “Roy will move forward in the tournament if somebody else can’t make it.”

At a media scrum on Wednesday, Bellator president Scott Coker discussed what’s next for Nelson.

“Unfortunately, Mirko tore his knee and he’s out, so Roy will not be fighting on Friday,” Coker said. “We will sit down with Roy after this fight and get him re-booked and get him busy again.”

Replacing the heavyweight battle in the main event, will be the middleweight title fight between Rafael Carvalho and Gegard Mousasi.
