Silva-Rampage Fight Rumored For The Fall
Wanderlei Silva and Rampage Jackson may face off for a fourth time this fall, this time inside the Bellator cage.
Silva took to Facebook on Wednesday, stating he’s in talks with Bellator officials, after being offered the main event of an unannounced Bellator event on September 29th against the former UFC and PRIDE star.
”Like people say, it’s very hard for a good professional to retire,” Silva said. “I just got a call from Bellator inviting to be part of the Sept. 29 (card) against Quinton Jackson in the main event in California. It’s our fourth bout, I won two of the first three, so it’s 2-1 for me.”
The two have faced off three times in their career, with Silva taking the first two fights when the faced off in PRIDE in 2003 and 2004 (both by KO), and Jackson would get a measure of revenge in 2008 with a first round knockout.
Silva has only fought once in the past two years, which was a unanimous decision loss to Chael Sonnen in the summer of 2016. Jackson also lost to Sonnen in his last fight inside the Bellator cage, earlier this year as part of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix.
