This weekend, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai takes a break from being a policeman in his native Thailand, and debuts in Los Angeles, when he faces Juan Francisco Estrada at the Forum in Inglewood, California.
Sor Rungvisai , coming off of a thrilling series of fights against Ramon “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, looks to make an impression against Estrada, and views Estrada as a stepping stone to proving himself among the elite, telling reporters this week that “I want to prove I’m the best in the Super Flyweight division and beating Estrada will help me achieve that goal.”
Sor Rungvisai also noted that even though he had a career defining performance against Roman Gonzalez in their second battle in 2017, knocking out “Chocolatito,” he told reporters that he “felt stronger” in his camp against Estrada, which may lead to an exciting night in Los Angeles.
Even though Estrada will have his fair share of fans inside the Forum, he may be walking into a very partisan crowd at “Superfly 2.” Sor Rungvisai expects to have a legion of Thai boxing fans making the trek to the Forum, as Southern California features the largest population of Thai people in the world outside of Asia, with over 100,000 Thai citizens in the Los Angeles area.
“I love fighting in Los Angeles, the support from the Thai boxing fans and all of the fans has been tremendous.”
Sor Rungvisai will be looking to give the Los Angeles fans plenty of fireworks, as the man who has scored 16 of his last 17 wins before the scorecards, looks to showcase his power and halt the ten fight winning streak of Estrada, and prove he is truly at the top of the flyweight division.
